today, some of us women at work were discussing about crushes that we have at work during lunch.. these girls are relatively close, but not like very good friends or anything (just colleagues).. i kinda blushed and embarrassed while i was discussing abt my crushes.. these women were making fun & I am now concerned that they would spread this over in my company (eventhough we promised that this would be our secret).. i am concerned about this being spread in the company & is so embarrassing for me.. I feel that i should not have participated in this conversation.. am i over-reacting?

well, if you blushed at some point then you felt unconfortable with you were externating.
it is good to be yourself and bring out what you think. after all you do not control crushes and even if you have a crush for someone, it does not mean it is something very serious. sometimes you just have crushes and then, when you get to know the person, you realise they are not what you thought.
if you get problems at work, you can correct the situation by saying you did feel attracted at some point, but it has all vanished; that person does have charm.
anyone hearing that could only take it positively.
and if you think your colleagues are a bit of a gossip then do not open certain issues to them. also, people with a big mouth are good for doing, undoing and counterdoing gossips, then take advantage of that, if you know what i mean. good luck with your crushes and do not crush too much.

You're not overreacting. I would definitely NOT do that, esp. if they are married men you're discussing. It will most certainly get back to them, and then become awkward. If it gets back to your boss, it could be even more trouble. The general rule with anyone is, DON'T trust anyone to keep a secret, esp. women in the workplace. They are a vicious breed.

Too late to go back now, but I wouldn't participate in conversations like that again.
