is it normal for my male dog to whine all day while my female dog is in heat?

They are both 'intact'.? my male dog is a two and a half yr old weimeraner, and the female is a six month old lab, her first heat and his first time being around a female in such a state.
he isn't nuetered causehe's akc and I intend to breed him at some point(if only to have his son later on) and she had health problems which prevented it. She's crate trained to we have no prob keeping them separate, he's just a real sad boy, is all. Don't worry, we're not irresponsible parents with them...

Yes it's normal.
Before I got my large outdoor male fixed, when my small indoor female was in heat, he would jump at the door and then sit right beside the door and bark and howl all day, and when he came inside at night and my female was in her kennel(inside the bedroom) he would lay in the hall and just whine and yelp all night.

Unless your getting them fixed soon, get ready for a whole month of the male acting up like that, every 6 months when the female comes into heat.

if you don't take the action of neutering your male dog you might be having some puppies soon.

Yes it's normal.

Now why are they both intact? Both of those dogs should have been fixed by at least 6 months old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course it's normal. He will do anything and everything in his power to get to her while she's in heat. At 2 and a half there's no reason why he shouldn't be neutered.

Yes, If you don't want to neuter or spay them I would try to keep them separated till she is of heat.

Your best bet is to get him neutered and her spayed she is way to young to even take the chance on her winding up with puppies your dogs will be healthier and happier if you get them fixed plus she wouldn't go through heat every 6 mos and you wouldn't have to worry about unwanted puppies

Yes, it's normal. Instinct says to mate. I hope you aren't letting them have ANY access to each other, I mean NONE. They will breed, and your b*tch is too young to whelp. You should take them both in and have them spayed and neutered

It is normal as soon as she is out of heat give her a bath so that the smell will not remain on her and he should stop whining
