Is it normal for my 01 Yamaha r6 to heat up to 225 degrees when stopped?

I have a 2001 Yamaha r6. When I'm in traffic, it heats up to 225 degrees. I don't hear a fan come on or feel cool air. I don't think this is normal and has me worried. Where is the fan located on my bike? How could I see if there is one or if its working? What could be wrong?
