lot when in heat? My female dog is in heat right now and the first couple days seemed fine, now today she is moping around and whining, she looks at me like she is miserable. Do they get cramps and all maybe? Do they bleed for the whole 21 days or just the first week or so?

My female acted really whiny and sad when she was in heat. Get her spayed. She probably has some kind of issues with her reproductive organs.

they bleed usually during the 2nd week. and for the whining, she maybe very moody because of the hormone changes.

Yes that's completely normal. It's not cramps; she's just feeling strong arousal and has no relief from it...and that's a good thing, you really should get her spayed before she does find relief! And they bleed for about 2 or so weeks, it depends on the dog really.
