Is it necessary to use screen protector?

I find screen protector EXTREMELY annoying especially i cant apply it right and air bubbles gets trapped there. so i decided to take it off today. does like ur pants actually scratch the screen? i wont purposely scratch it but does it get those hair line scratches like ipod?

Some manufacturer's screens (or the cover) scratch easier than others. I've never had any one of them that I've kept for a good period of time (say 6+ months) not get scratched, even if it's just 'cleaning' scratches. It's cheap and easy protection on an otherwise expensive device.

One of the easiest ways to put on a screen protector...and not get any dust, scratches, bubbles, etc. (at least, it's worked for me the past 5 years).....

Clean surface thoroughly. Work in a high humidity area (bathroom with the doors closed and the shower running hot for a few minutes). Follow the screen protector installation instructions....but add one step. Spray the adhesive side 'very lightly' with ammonia free Windex before installing, then shake off the excess (like there's not enough for dripping). Hold the protector in one hand, peeled, with the Windex bottle in the other hand about 14-18 inches away. Install...and wipe the protector from center to outside edge with a credit card (or similar) gently to get out excess fluid. You may have to hold the protector in place. Then, immediate pat dry with lint free cloth. And....here's the hardest part. LEAVE it alone for a couple of hours, at least. Do not touch it, or try to speed the drying process whatsoever.

I use screen protectors made from the bulk material bought from bestskinsever.com. Several phones, several iPods, no problems.

HTH.

Ew. The only reason you ever get bubbles from a screen protector is if there's dust between the screen and the screen protector or if its made of a really cheap material. If you buy from Clarivue or Martin Fields, you'll run into WAY less trouble. I recommend Clarivue because they're cheaper and you get two with your order. They're about the same quality as Martin Fields. MUCH easier to apply than turning your bathroom into a sauna just to apply a screen protector.

Ive had mine on for a few months now and i can see all the little scratches for sure on it..

personally, i haven't bought any screen protectors yet.. i just use whatever came with the phone and remove when it no longer holds..

i tried brasso on a sharp TM100 with lots of light scratches and results came out quite nice.. you can actually see the screen now.. lol.

I agree.

I have never used a screen protector and I don't think I ever will. I personally don't see any scratches on any of my screens...then again, I don't have time to inspect my screen every 3 seconds for scratches -

Exactly.

And...anyone in the U.S. shouldn't be talking about putting screen protectors on our phones or iPods or Zunes or whatever we're trying to protect.

It's a violation of a U.S. patent owned by Warman....

remember i didnt use any on my SLVR l7 because the screen was glass. does anyone know if the e61/e62 screen is also glass?

glass doesnt scratch as easily as plastic.

You honestly think that I'd make less money with a perfect screen with a screen protector still on it versus a screen that's scratched up from months of use?

Better to be safe than sorry thats all i'm saying, never badly scratched a phone without a protector on the screen but saying that its always one of the 1st things i purchase when gettinga shiny new toy

I think it's more like saying buying a special wax specifically for your windshield is for pussies. Then again, your windshield doesn't scratch all over the place when your keys scrape all over it.
