business? I have a friend who works at a small bar. And it has been said that not only is the bar under video surveillance but the owner is going to install several cameras with audio also. Is this legal? I feel as if it is ease dropping on peoples private conversations. Is there anything that can be done about this? I totally agree with the video but audio I think is a invasion of privacy.

I'm in Ohio too and I can't agree with ALL of these cameras being put up all the time. YES it is legal to set up a camera especially if They are the owner. The only reason that They need ANY cameras is for evidence or drug deals etc. I can agree that if You are doing something wrong then You get caught but I also believe that places like red lights that take pictures and places where the Police etc. should be the ones who need to catch people.

It is a good idea especially at a bar. In case of fights, car break ins, Burglary etc.

There would be so many people in the bar that the conversations would mostly be in-audible, also i doubt the bar owner would be interested in listening to peoples conversations, or have the time to do it. There is no law against it.
