Is it legal for my employer to require my spouse to take a health assessment?

Last year, my employer began requiring employees to complete an annual health assessment and participate in a "wellness activity" to prevent a $260 annual increase to health insurance premiums.

Yesterday, they announced that it is now required for spouses to also complete an annual health assessment in order to prevent another $260 annual premium increase.

Is it legal for my employer to require my spouse, who does not work for the company, to complete a health assessment in order to prevent an increase in my insurance costs? And if so, what's next? My children? Isn't this a tremendous invasion of privacy? And is there any legal precedent that would prevent this?
