My college produces a few albums a year that students wrote and performed, and I'd love to put some of the songs up on YouTube to promote it. I'd just make simple vids of art or photos set to the songs.
I know tons of people upload music they don't own the copyrights to onto YouTube, but I want to be super careful since I don't want to be put in jeopardy with my school. I'm going to ask my stepdad about this at some point (he's an attorney) but it would be good to get a general idea about the legality of it now.
