Wife was fired monday. She worked 8 hours that day. She worked at a bank where a deposit was messed up and 210 dollars was unaccounted for. The customer called and complained and my wife said there was only a check and no 210 dollars cash in the deposit. Since it sounds like she stole (I'm sure after 3 years she would jack 210 dollars to risk her job, when she dealt with THOUSANDS each day) it the bank fired her due to carelessness.
The bank manager said they will not be paying her for monday because the bank had to take a loss and reimburse the customer the 210 dollars. Is this legal? If it's not can you point me towards a document or article (legal) that states it is illegal for an employer to do this?
Bad enough to fire her, but fire her AND take our money? Thanks.
