Is it just me or is Android somewhat buggy with Bluetooth Stereo?

Using a Jabra BT3030 I get the lovely convenience of receiving a phonecall and wirelessly listening to music but, it just seems VERY buggy at times. The main thing is after being on a call (mostly receiving a call but many times making a call also bugs things up) and trying to play music or any audio in the G1, sound just stutters badly

Thought it was just when my G1 was rooted but as I run it on stock still get the same thing. When I toyed around with the Motorola Droid in Verizon store the other day after wowing myself with it's quickness & seeing that it had a working phone signal I paired my headset to it and played music & watched youtube vids on there... after calling the Droid phone and then trying to play back sounds guess what? Stuttering playback even out the great almighty Droid

The stuttering stops when I turn the Jabra off then back on but (a) this is annoying for obvious reasons (b) there may be times when things are finicky with pairing/re-pairing headset with phone. There's other little annoyances here & there like some lag @ times when trying to pause/ff/rw but the stuttering crap annoys me and going by the Droid running 2.0 it's still a problem then.

Thus I'm wondering how everyone's experience is with whatever bluetooth stereo (A2DP) device their pairing with their G1's (or any other android device you using). I'm hoping it isn't just my Jabra BT3030 but sadly accept the possibility it -could- be the culprit . Phonecalls for the most part are clear even while stereo sound goes through buggy (altho I had a couple moments where the phone would reboot when a call comes in on my Dream or I may miss a call altogether until i reboot phone).

I have a plantronics stereo Bluetooth that is paired with a nexus now, used to have it paired with a G1. Never seem to have problems with calls but when I play media files it connects the first time less than half the time. Most of the time I have to disconnect and reconnect to get it to work. I have gone into settings to check to see if it was connected to phone and media and it said it was.

I had the same problem with the G1.

I get problems between my G1 and car stereo (via BT)...

Always variable... e.g sometimes after a call it will go back to playing music/podcast, others it doesn't, when I switch the radio on/off it sometimes stops playback, others times starts playing out of the phone (very annoying!).

Don't seem to have too many problems with stuttering - it either works or doesn't. But I do have Advanced Task Manager and frequently (e.g. >20 a day) end all apps... otherwise things do quickly get very slow! Plus, I routinely (maybe once every two-weeks) review the apps I have installed and un-install any I don't use - as this helps speed things up slightly (more when I went from having 200+ apps to about 100 now)...

If anyone has any ideas how to improve this... I'm all ears!

I don't pair with a headset but I have had 2 G1's, a Samsung Behold II and currently a Nexus One and they have all paired flawlessly with my Ford Sync. Never had a drop out or stutter or any problems with them.

I use both the Jabra BT3030 and Sony DR-BT140Q stereo headsets with my G1. I've had some stuttering with both. I've found that turning off Wi-Fi when using the headsets reduces stuttering dramatically, to the point where it's not a problem. I've also had frequent problems with audio failing to go to the headset--instead going through the phone speaker or not being heard at all. I usually end up stopping and re-starting BT to fix this.

I'd have to agree that the Bluetooth stereo audio situation isn't great under Android--at least under version 1.6. I am running the CyanogenMod ROM, so I can't be sure the problems aren't unique to this ROM, though.

I was on CyanogenMod before going back to stock so I can verify that it isn't just the mod since both stock android does this as well as even 2.0 on a Motorola Droid will choke up with the same issues.

Wish more folks with Nexus One's give feedback on this since I'm very interested in possibly jumping upwards to that - not that I don't appreciate ggrant3876's feedback which is appreciated. Just need more people's feedback to help give me a more general idea on this stuff :\

BT is my pet peeve with almost anything, not just android. Basic headset is about all it is really good for as far as I'm concerned. I have an S9 so it does both headset and headphone. When it works it works as well or better on my Magic than other devices I've tried. Buttons etc work. However I too get the stuttering at times and of course the range isn't anywhere near as advertised. Funny that phone in right pocket works better than in my left.

Two main things I've seen that are similar to other users:
.WiFI seems to interfere and I've seen the same on other devices.
.After the initial pairing it may or may not connect the next time or might only get one profile working. Have to try again and maybe again.

The order of actions needed to get good results makes BT almost useless except that if I want to get in the car I have to do it. Casual stereo listening is nice when it works but if not I'm not going to waste my time. Nice that Ford's solution seems to work but the standard says my devices should work. I freakin hate BT.

BT in general is a piece of crap or at best a crap shoot depending on many factors. It hasn't gotten any better on Android. But I do find it slightly better on 1.6 vs 1.5.
