Is it illegal to carry a knife while on a jog outdoors?

As a young girl, I don't feel safe running outside by myself, and I cant get anyone to run with me (most people I know are unfit and/or overweight). Even my dogs too fat to run with me ): He drags behind! Anyway, I have a large combat knife that I can tuck into my hand when I run, but I was wondering about the legal issues of that. Could I be in trouble if I tried to defend myself against some one with it, or against an animal, or for even carrying it in the first place?

Just wondering!

Depending on what kind of knife u want to carry. U can't go running around with a Samurai sword BUT it is legal to carry a knife for self defense. There are certain laws like the length of blade etc... mostly local so you'd have to contact local law enforcement for that info. As for self defense, yes u can use it as long as u feel your life is in danger.

yes you would be in trouble!
If you can't get anyone to go with you, just make sure you 1) run only when it is light
2) stick to very populated areas- no alleyways or fields.
3) vary your route and time of day and day of the week you go.
Absolutely dont carry a knife, you'd never get away with that. If someone goes for you, the points to go for are balls, eyes, shins, or throat (but you could kill someone by hitting their throat so it would have to be life and death situation).
Alternatively you could get gym membership for your birthday/xmas and go on the treadmill.
Good for you that you want to get fit. Oh, you could join a running club or something then you would have people to go with.
Good luck x
