I was on FML, and some lady said that they had on faux fur, and Peta splashed them.... I have some nice jackets with faux fur ('cause im too cheap to buy the real deal) and I just want to know if it is illegal. Also, while your at it, if I do get splashed, it it illegal for me to chase them down, and tackle them until police get there? Just wondering...

YES it's so illegal but in a way they get there point out there.
Yes it would be battery and if they used paint or something that stained it would also be a charge of criminal damage to property (the proper name for damaging property.) depending on the cost of the jacket it could be a felony in Illinois if the damage is less than $350.00 it is not a felony but over $350.00 is a felony.
I would most likely tackle them, but best advise would be to follow them and guide police to you that way they have no counter charge against you for battery or assault. now if you could get them right when they did it you could say you were defending yourself.
I would also sue them in civil court for the damages and I would claim mental distress to get even more from them. I don't normally advise everyone to sue but these idiots need to be hurt for what they do and jail and arrest is a badge of honor for these idiots but loosing their home might make them think twice about forcing their views on someone in such an inappropriate way.
