Is it hard to get into parsons fashion school?

I am getting mixed answers... some say its very selective but others say all you need is an amazing portfolio. So what do you think? oh and also someone told me that I should not include fashion in my portfolio... is that true? I have a piece that really shows my ability and I want to include it. Thanks!

this is not from personal experience but a girl in my class (i graduated this year) she had the lowest possible gpa, got suspended multiple times and had a sub par portfolio and got in.
