to return her daughter? Is it fair that a Swedish mother is still wanted for parental abduction for not willing to return her daughter to Virginia in 1995? She was given permission to take her daughter (born in 1987) to Sweden if she agreed to return her to her American father and was prohibited from taking any legal action in the Swedish court system by the Virginia court. She violated the US child custody order by taking legal action in the Swedish court system. Because the child told the Swedish Supreme Court in 1995 that she wanted to live with her mother in Sweden, the child now an adult got what she wanted. Shortly afterward the mother was indicted for parental abduction in Virginia. The father has not heard any thing from his daughter since, and she is believed to be living in Sweden today near her mother. She is a citizen of Sweden & the United States.
