Is it easier for my mechanic to rebuild my 90cc engine if it isn't on the bike?

I'm restoring a little 90cc Kawasaki, but need to have the engine rebuilt. I figure it would be a good time to powdercoat the frame. Is it going to be a problem for my mechanic to rebuild the engine if it isn't on the bike? Is it easier, since he can put it on his workbench to do it all?
 
i'd say so definately.

i had my vfr 400 nc-30 engine rebuilt recently and as most of the parts are well packed in, it takes him less time to strip and replace things if its out of the bike...less time less money spent on labour.

if he needs to he'll take the engine out anyway...which means more work for him and a bigger bill for you!
 
2 stroke engine - rebuilding the top end - the same in, or out of the frame.
Keep in mind, there's is no guarantee if you bring in just the engine.
The mechanic has no way to run the engine to test for leaks, or to even see if it runs after the rebuild.

Since you are planing to remove the engine yourself, bring in the entire bike for the rebuild.
When you get it home, remove the engine.
