Is it disingenuous to "accept gays" but not to accept the "gay lifestyle"?

Let me try and explain this in a way that will be easy to understand. Let's say you have a child that is not obeying you- would you hate the thing that they are doing wrong or would you hate the child? The answer should be "I will still love my child, but I cannot love the behavior". So with anything that is a sin, (homosexuality, or something else)- we are to love the person. That does not mean we have to love their lifestyle or what someone is doing. I know that this is not the most popular answer, but that is what I believe.

I accept people who cheat, but not the cheating lifestyle.
I accept people who do drugs, but not the druggie lifestyle
I accept people who dress immodestly, but not the immodest lifestyle.

Not really . . . acceptance and approval are two very different things.

I might accept that my son has chosen to become a musician, but not approve of his career choice.
 
Many people cannot bring themselves to see reality. What gays do is just as important as who they are meaning that the 'love the person, not the sin' really doesn't work. For all the bigots out there, it's either one or the other. Accept the whole thing or stay homophobic.

No, I know and work with many gays and "accept" them as i would any coworker and friend. I disagree with their lifestyle choice (many agree it is a choice).



No. The APA used to say gay was innate, they now way they just plain do not know. They failed to prove their premise.

It's a lie when they claim to love or "accept" gays. A few decades ago other bigots said they accept blacks, as long as they sit in the back of the bus. It's the same kind of ugly, despicable self-righteous arrogance now as then.
 
Possibly. What IS this thing about the "gay lifestyle" anyway? Can anyone who goes on about it tell us how it differs from merely living as a human being?
