A friend of mine works for the same company as me. Recently a position opened up the she's more than qualified for, but they told her that she could not apply because there's an internal hiring freeze in her department. Yet anyone else can apply and they'll still pursue outside applications for this position. Is this legal? I feel like this is almost discrimination.
Is it discrimination to ban internal hiring for a company position?
