...other students to wear one? I have this teacher (one that i preticularly dislike) at my school who often doesnt allow me to wear my hat, but allows others to wear thier's. Our school often has "Hat Days" were stundents are allowed to wear hats if they have a stamp on their hand. In order to get a stamp one has to make a mandatory one dollar donation to what ever the school happens to be raising money for that week. Im trying to take the approach that this is unfair to those who can not afford the 1 dollar charge, not because i am poor, but because i find enjoyment in standing up against injustices (plus i also dislike this teacher alot). So i guess my question to you is, is this a form of economic discrimnation, does this teacher have the right to tell me as well as others who can not afford the charge that we can not wear our hats, and how would i go about abolishing hat day all together or fixing hat day to make it more economicaly fair?(I forgot to mention that i attend a public school, the majority of which in white.)
Jesus people dont you see the hat is not the issue here, i am just pissed because of the fact that the school doesnt allow poor people to wear hats because they are poor. Poor people are being excluded from events because they are poor, its like when a teacher says an essay must be typed even if everyone doesnt have computer access. the hat isn't the issue its more of a metaphor, teachers dont have the right to discriminate against the poor minority of their students, because they are poor, am i the only one who sees that discriminating against the poor is wrong?
