It's alright to play sports but you need to study (it doesn't matter how intelligent you are). My stepdad was the valedictorian of his graduating class (97% in physics and 94% in calculus without even trying) but in his first year of post-secondary he flunked out because he didn't study (he was partying and playing soccer).

I would actually encourage you to play sports but manage your time wisely and ensure it doesn't interfere with your academics.

...study time? I want to be on the swim team in college but I do not know if I will have enough time to study and do my work in between practicing, sleeping, relaxing, etc...any tips or passed experiences that you could tell me about would be greatly appreciated.
