My 2 formally indoor cats now living in my backyard are visited by possums and raccoons. do these animals fight? i cant tell if they've been fighting because my cats didn't do anything to the possum drinking from their water bowl on my porch. i scare them away when i can but it might be becoming a problem. thanks for any insight or advice

YES! they will fight and they could have rabies and many other disesas that could be spread to you so please keep your kitties inside

Please don't let your cats hang out with raccoons and possums. Raccoons will kill your cats and possums will fight with your cat. The possums will leave scars on your cats. I love cats, so please take care of your cats!

yes...its very dangerous because oppossums n raccoons can carry rabies..if your feeding your cats out side, the wild critters can smell it. and will fight for a free meal. these animals are known for being very agressive towards humans as well. so you may want to feed your cats indoors..and if the critters still come back you may want to call animal controll to trap and relocate the animals,,,i hope this helps..i'm a country girl and i grew up with these animals as pets ..trust me.. they are better left in the wild away from people..kimberry

You shouldn't let your pets hang around wild animals. They're still animals, no matter how cute they seem, so they can attack your cats the second they seem threatened or scared. The fact that they're possums/raccoons makes it even worse, because of the danger of rabies.

nope never do that raccons have rabies and if they scratch or bite ur cat then they mite get rabies.
ps raccons are agressive and are territorial animals will attack anything

no sure about oppusums
