Is it better to be bigoted and educated or open-minded and ignorant?

This is hypothetically of course. I think (at least nearly always) that education makes someone more open-minded, and ignorance leads to bigotry. But let's say you're in a town with two schools. One offers a spectacular education but breeds prejudice. The other is fair to everyone but has a very, very poor education level. Where would you send your kids? Or where would you want to attend yourself?

Actually, now that I've written it out, it doesn't seem so far-fetched.The first option would be a fundamentalist religious private school, the other a poor hippie charter school. Still, it's purely hypothetical and I do not have such a dilemma.
