Is it beneficial to have a realtor for purchasing a home from a community where the

home will be built for us? We are looking at buying a new home in a planned community from a national home builder. It "seems" as if they are rather set on their prices, but I wanted to see if anyone knows if national home builders will work with you on price and/or upgrades just like a home owner will when buying from them. Also, is there a benefit to having a realtor assist with the purchase? Would their fee come from us or the home builder? Anything to watch out for in purchasing a new home from a national builder?
 
in today's market the builder should negotiate with you. if not, go to another builder. there are many builders in this nation and there are not too many working. if you cannot negotiate yourself, get an someone to do it for you. it does not have to be a Realtor. it can be a friend of family member who is good at this kind of thing.

if you walk away from the builder he will call you back to negotiate.
