Is it bad to tell your boyfriend he cant text or talk to girls on the phone?

My boyfriend would always talk about how he doesnt talk to any girls at all even though i told him i doesnt matter. but then i caught him secretly talking to a couple of girls and first he lied but then he said theyre just friends. and then he said he'd never do it again.. but he did. so now i just dont allow him to text/talk to any random girls or girls he's sneaked and talked to because i think he cant handle that and because i dont see why he absolutely needs to. OH and he has never allowed me to talk to any guys period. but please answer my question pleasssssee
