Is it bad to run my 2 12" kicker comps with a 600 watt amp?

they are 4 ohm, so they're getting the right amount of power, right? 150 watts each if im correct (but im kinda inexperienced) and by right i mean not too much so they'll blow.
its a jbl 600.1 if i remember correctly, sorry

and bro, you cant adjust the amount of power its pushin, gain is just the volume
 
What kind of amp? Is that 600 watts peak or RMS power? Please give us more info about your setup.

Thats a good amp if its the older bp model. The gain is NOT a volume knob, it is to match the input voltage from the source unit. However, when you are "overpowering" subs like you are doing now, its perfectly fine to turn the gain down some to save the subs. You get into trouble when you keep turning the gain up and clipping the signal.

Should work fine with your 4 ohm models, wire them in parallel to achieve a 2 ohm mono load. They will be getting 300 watts each, but they should be fine if you set the gain conservatively and dont abuse them.
