is it bad to put the better gas in a 1989 toyota camry?

I usually use the regular gas but I accidenty put in the best gas (the pumps were switched around) and I got almost 50 more miles out of that fillup. Is it bad to switch to the better gas if the car is soo old and used to the regular gas?
 
They say that you should put the higher octane in about once a month. It keeps your injectors cleaner. Depends on who you listen to.
