I have been in a serious relationship with my boyfriend for 2 years. After a night out recently he surprised me by giving me a promise ring to promise he will engage me in the near future however the ring he gave me was from a previous relationship he was in. His ex girlfriend bought him after he proposed to her she bought him this ring to promise her love to him. When they split years ago he kept the ring and has no given it to me. Is it tacky or bad luck fore to wear this ring? He says he gave it to me because he does not have the money to buy me one and didn't want it to go to waste as he swears no feelings are attached to this ring. Please give me your opinions. I know this is supposed to be a happy moment but somehow I I find myself confused wether I am happy or not or should be happy or not to wear the ring he has given me.
Is it bad manners to reuse a previous promise ring?
