is it bad if your pet guppy (fish) has black spots on it?

This depends. If it is a male, then it is probably pesky annoying Ick. If it is a female, it is either painful ick, or all of the sudden the guppy is pregnant,
 
My little sister got a guppy and it was healthy until today. I found black spots on it...is that bad? Please help!

Do you know if your guppy is a male or a female? If female? Perhaps she's pregnant? Need more details.
