no its not always better to use the more expensive gas. You should use the gas that is recommended for the bike. For instance if it calls for minimum 89 put 89, if it says minimum is 91 put 91 never go under but you can go over but its a waste. Oh and i recommend using name brand gas, shell is my choice but stay away from convenience store gas and other crap like that
