Is it a serious environmental sin to throw turpentine or paint-thinner down the toilet?

I don't have a car to drive to the special rubbish place,so apart from paper, glass and clothes I throw everything in the bin or down the toilet. I'm starting to think it would be less environmentally damaging to get a car than chucking all this dodgy stuff away?
 
If everybody threw paper out the window when driving what would your neighborhood look like? Dispose of these items in their proper place.

It is very bad for two reasons.

If you have a septic tank, it will destroy the enzimes that are there that process the waste and your tank will eventually back up with poo in your toilet.

Also If you have a community waste processing center, it will affect their system as well.

Call your local waste hauler and ask for instructions on disposal. They will be more than willing to advise you.

What you must remember is virtually everything you consider trash is recyclable. 50 years ago before environmentalism became the thing almost nothing went to a land fill, it got recycled in one way or another. Land fills came in with the environmentalists as the leaders of the movement are heavily invested in land fills and energy companies and so did not like the community incinerator power plants that used to supply a large part of the electricity people used from trash. Now those plants are fueled by coal instead. So they profit twice from charging for land fill use and selling coal to the power plant.
