I am a 22 year old male and have been regularly eating fast food all of my life. I am very active physically and intellectually and enjoy a comfortable life. After recent blood tests I have been found to be exceptionally healthy. The only down side is that I am a little under weight. I am 5'8" and weigh about 135lbs. Am I a mutant or is fast food really not that unhealthy for you? To give you a gauge, I'll say that I often eat McDonald's and Taco Bell.
Ok... I will admit that if anything, my cholesterol was a little low, along with my blood pressure.
Personally, in my beleif it is perfectly fine that I am eating fast food because it complements my health nicely. I'm not eating it for every meal and I take multi-vitamins. I think that if I stopped eating fast food I won't be getting enough fat and sodium in my diet, or even enough nutrients. My opinion is that people like to overexaggerate the effects of fast food on the body and point to lazy and gluttonous people for proof. Am I just delusional?

allowing yourself to have a treat here and there is ok by me. but when you eat meals that have no nutritional value you are losing those vitamins that help various things in your body you don't normally see.
my sister was a bean pole when she was 22ish. flat all four ways we used to joke. ate fast food ALL the time. now she is only 26 and dealing with a slow deterioration of her body. now she eats right and exercise but still feels a slight bit of regret.
basically, i think eating right helps keep you younger longer.... which is what everyone strives for. and with the right combinations doesn't have to be starving yourself and eating distasteful food.
ps good for you staying active!

Well you are young, you are expected to be healthy. You just have a fast metabolism. All fast food isn't bad they have healthier options on the menus nowadays. Bad part about it is most healthy items costs more.

no its not a myth didnt watch that doco about the guy who ate mcdonalds everyday for 30 days called super size me
