I found a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP that I really want! It is an 05 with around 38,000 miles. For $11,000. The color is white and the car has everything including 17 inch rims... I have always wanted a car like this. If they still have it Monday, which is the day I know if I am approved for the loan or not, then I'm gonna get it. Is it a good deal? And should I even buy a Pontiac since they are fixing to quit making them? thanks

Is what you really want better or worse than what you really need?
A lot of people chase what they want out of life, only to end up with less than they really need!
I've found that going for what you need usually leads to what you want.

I had a Pontiac Grand Am for a couple of years, and it was definitely one of my favorite cars. For one, it had over 200,000 miles on it and ran like a champ. Also, it was pretty quick, and had nice pickup. Plus it was pretty and comfy inside, which is always nice.

38,000 miles is pretty light, and the 05 is fairly new. Also, you seem to really want the car, and that makes all the difference.

As far as the price, I checked Kelly Blue Book for 92647 [Orange County, CA] zip code. The value ranges between $10k and $12k, so it appears you are getting a good deal there.

I say if you like it, go for it! The fact that they are going to quit making them doesn't really mean anything. If anything, it will increase the value of the car, since it is no longer on the market. When the Acura Integra stopped being made, the Blue Book on mine went up by $2k.

Good Luck!

don't do it My friend has a pontiac and it kills him at the gas. We went around the city once and that took a half of tank. He says he also has to put premium every so often because the engine hates to have the regular stuff. They are big cars and gas burners Its like driving an suv but its still a car.

He tells me it's like throwing money at a black hole, and he said that if he could go back he would not have bought the thing. Its a 2000 red grand prix.

Get a civic or a corolla since they wont hurt you at the pump.

If you like the car, I'd buy it. Grand Prix's are cool. But first check the value on KBB. They will be shutting down Pontiac. But I wouldn't worry about getting it serviced because the Pontiacs share 90% of their parts all with other GM brands.
