I heard that you should be a mechanic to deal with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle is that true ? I love the looks and sound of a duo-glide. but I'am scared that I will have many problems with such if I'am not a mechanic. I heard that they shake themselfs to death. Should I stick to a Honda Interstate ?

My Sister-in-Law has a 2002 Sportster that she bought new. She is far from being a mechanic.

Like any motorcycle, it is important to keep up with routine maintenance. She brings hers into the shop for this maintenance.

Most other modern bikes will require a mechanic to do most of the maintenance.

As for the vibration, her bike vibrates no more than my Suzuki V-twin. But her bike is much better made than my Suzuki.

nope my dad has two i know lots of people that have them and they dont have any problems. my dad took in my moms 91 883 sportster SE for the 150 point check(or what ever it is) the only thing it needed was a new set of brake pads. the only thing we have done to it in the 6 years of owning it was oil, brake and tire changes. my dads 06 soft tail night train has had no problems hes done regluar oil changes and thats it.
