Is it a bad idea to join the U.S. army without telling my parents?

I'm going to finish a nursing program (with a bachelor's degree) and then join the army. Is this a good idea? Or should I look into another branch? What are all the benefits of joining? I mean monetary benefits would be a bonus but I'm looking for other benefits as well. Can you please tell me the monetary and other benefits? Your experiences...

How about not telling my parents until after I sign myself up with the army? I know that's bad, but it isn't that bad, is it? They won't be mad at me forever...will they? I'm living with them.
 
lol wow well are you parents against military??
if not then go for it
if they are well...go for it just make sure you have a place to live BEFORE they find out.
