American mass media, specially, Hollywood, has always been depicting Israeli military and intelligence extremely good and sometimes better than their American counterparts. A TV show told that Linda Hamilton trained under Israeli ex-commando for her role in Terminator 2. The female narrator gave a special emphasis on "Israeli ex-commando". I wonder about the real reason behind choosing an Israeli. I think it wasn't because he was more competent than any given American commando but he was available to do the same job for less money.
Still, why are Americans so dependent on Israeli expertise in American fiction when in reality Israel is completely dependent on USA for its survival and Israeli Military experience is a mouse compared to an elephant when it comes to the comparison with the experience of US military?
