Is is ok to defrost chicken then freeze it in the freezer and defrost it again to cook?

would it still be ok? My mother said otherwise but my father in law does so my husband said it ok.I dont want to get sick lol so I need to know before eating this food?
 
it should be fine as long as you cook it up to the proper cooking temperature of at least 74 degrees celsius and make sure you keep it out of the danger zone between 4 and 60 degrees celsius where bacteria grows rapidly, if you are not eating it yet
 
It creates more bacteria when you do that. It's rare that you'll get sick but chances of food poisoning and spoilage increases. If you don't want to eat all the chicken it's better to separate it into portions and put it in a freezer bag and/or aluminum foil then put it in the freezer instead of continually re-freezing.
