Insurance on an R6 would be more expensive. Not only is it a fast more powerful bike, but it typically is ridden more aggressively which goes into insurance calculations (not just how you ride, but the insurance companies experience with the model), also they get stolen much more often which increases the insurance cost. If your main concern is to keep insurance low get a cruiser. My VTX1300 costs me $340 per year for full coverage, I was quoted $3500 per year for some of the sport bikes I was looking at.
