A lot of people say that drawing/painting/sculpting is haram, and try to justify it with this hadith:
1678. Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, "Those who draw pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection; and it will be said to them: `Breathe soul into what you have created.'''
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
However, it says in Surat Saba of the Glorious Qur'an that Allah commanded the jinns to work for the prophet Sulaiman, and this included making statues:
[Saba 34:13] They made for him whatever he wished - synagogues and statues, basins like ponds, and large pots built into the ground; “Be thankful, O the people of Dawud!” And few among My bondmen are grateful.
What are your opinions?
