Is Human Services or Health Care Administration a better field to major in?

Jaded Misery

I keep bouncing back in forth! I want to help people-I know that. I have been faced with several life changing experiences that I know I could help other people overcome such obstacles, which is why I am appealed to Human Services, and eventually, Psychology. However, in light of recent tax cuts proposed by the government, I'm just not sure that's a smart choice to bank on for a lucrative career. I understand that my best foot in will be a state or federal affiliated program related to Social Services. But if there are no jobs available because of payroll requirements, my college education will have seemed worthless.

On the other hand, I also love and am fascinated by the medical world. I love talking the talk because my mother was a medical transcriptionist and I learned a lot watching her, so I have a leg up on medical terminology and even recent health laws. I have three children so I have purchased and studied several medical books to have my own knowledge of when something happens, whether it is dangerous, or treatable by home remedies. As well as, I would also have somewhat contact with patients and the ability to make a positive difference (if even on a small scale). I know that the health care industry, regardless of how it is controlled by the government is going to grow because of the simple demand of health care.

Should I stick with my first love, Human Services and hope the job market is there when I graduate?

Or should I be smart and go with Health Care Administration?

While I want to be happy in the career I ultimately wind up in...I want to know my three kids are secure and stable financially in this not so stable economy. That is priority number one.
