My boyfriend and I have been together a little over a month. He just graduated from high school and I'll be a Junior this year. He's taking his ASVAB (military qualifying exam) soon and planning to head into either the Air Force and be a Parachute Jumper or to the Navy and join the Seals (ambitious, I know).
Anyway, we know we're staying together through his training and I'm backing him on his decision one hundred percent, but recently he brought up the fact that he wants me to be there through his first four years of duty and maybe even if he stays on for twenty.
I love him and I support him, but four years, or especially twenty, is a very long time. He's said he wants to be with me "a while" (because he knows if he says forever he'll scare me off) and I don't know if I'm old or mature enough to make that kind of commitment. Should I tell him this and be realistic?
