So I have a dream of becoming a video game artist, but there is one thing I am doubting. I am not trying to speak highly of myself but I do have the skills for draw-drawn stuff. When I was in high school, I notice many people would lay their eyes on what i have drawn for couple of seconds(I kinda feel they like my drawings, its not the "what the heck is that" kinda eye contacts) when I am bored, even in art class. Many people also said that my drawing is really really good, I would succeed in video game art field. This really give me confidence of hand drawing skills, with a pencil and papers. However, I do not have any knowledge of using any softwares for digital art, like photoshop, adobe illustrator, or flash. I don't think hand draw alone is enough to be hired but some said hand-draw skills is primarily the most important as video game artist. Or should I even go to an art school? I am currently pursuing a computer science degree right now at a regular university to make the chances of being hired to be higher, like capable of art and computer at the same time, but I don't know, what do you guys think? Any opinions will be appreciated. Thanks people.
