Is Grindhouse going to get released in the UK?

It was due to be released this weekend but I'm assuming because it flopped in the US the dates have changed.
However there's no release dates for the UK on the IMBD website.
I've also heard that the films could be released separately (for those who don't know it's 2 films joined together by Tarantino and Rodregez) but then surely we'd miss the trailers inbetween the films.
I know I could see these on youtube or download them but it's not the same.
Tarantino films generally do well in the UK so surely they could have shown it.

Yeah, its not getting shown as 'Grindhouse' but will get shown as 2 films, Death Proof & Planet Terror. Death proof has a release date but as you say, nothing for Planet Terror.

The americans didn't 'get it' so we'll have to make do with the movie as 2 separate ones, entirely unfair as I was really looking forward to the whole 2 & 1/2 hours movie & the funny trailers in between.

Same here, and I think audiences here would have appreciated it. Would have been great to watch them as intended, and if nothing else it would have been 2 films for the price of 1!

Yeah, I'm also hoping for a full region 1 release. Particulary if it means I get to see the movie as it was originally intended.

I read in 'DVD Review' that the makers are hoping to do multiple releases. One of "Grindhouse", one of "Grindhouse: Restored" (i.e. missing reels re-inserted, and scratches/burns removed) and then the two separate film releases in their complete form.

I'm assuming that the two versions of "Grindhouse" will be in one set, allowing you to choose which way to watch.

It's a shame that the UK and the rest of the world isn't going to get the full Grindhouse experience, i've been lucky enough to see it in it's entirety as it was intended, and it's a really good 'nostalgic' look at the 'B movies' of the 70's. 'Planet Terror' is infinitely better than 'Death Proof' (imo), and is definitely more of a B movie than DP, but as a whole it really shines, especially the hilarious "Prevues of Coming Attractions".

Death Proof has been given a release date of September 21st but nothing as of yet for Planet Terror. The plan at the moment is for both DP and PT to be cleaned up and have the missing shots inserted, so we lose the Grindhouse effect.

Surely its not true people left after the first film? I keep looking for excuses why Yanks are not stupid but surely this reinforces the sterotype.
I have seen and read enough to know it is a double bill with micky take trailers in the middle. Because of this I will not be able to see the feature as intended because Yanks dont do irony.

I've got a feeling that unless you're a film freak or over a certain age, where you remember those wonderfully crappy cinemas that had a nice sense of 'community' (I say that with genuine affection :D) ...then you'll probably hate this film.

In the US, Death Proof is coming on Sep 18th, Planet Terror sometime in October. Grind House doesn't have a release date at all.

I'm 18, and i loved it. I think if you like good old fashioned "splatter-fests" from the 70's and 80's, then you'll love these films. It's a shame that they are splitting it over here, especially since Planet Terror is much better than Death Proof (imo). PT was more "Grindhouse-y" than Tarrantino's effort, which consisted more of talking than action, although the final car chase is totally worth the wait!

I saw this a couple of weeks ago. It was mental and I loved it. The first half (Planet Terror) was my favourite. Full of blood and gore. The fake film trailers in the middle were funny. Death Proof was good. Like other Tarrantino's other films, he likes his dialogue, and up against Planet Terror, it wasn't as enjoyable for me.
