When ever I see something in the news about our environmental crisis getting worse. The culprits are basically big industry and businesses.

They are still generating the same old products, with questionable quality in parts and workmanship. Yet introducing other new products, that are advertised to make our lives easier, at the same time making even more toxic waste.

If they aren't going to make products more green aware. Why do we buy their products?

Do you know of any businesses that produce environmentally conscious products - as if there were any alternatives?

So you're obviously going to give up your computer and cell phone, right?
I mean, they're made from petroleum-based materials.

And think about the infrastructure that went into connecting us globally. What waste!

And how about the energy consumption?

Smoke signals leave a smaller carbon footprint. I'll be looking for your messages in the sky.

Yes

But when is greed, greed? Does wanting to be employed in order to support your family greed? When Jean Valjean in La Miserables steals a loaf of bread, is that greed? Is buying a made in China product from Walmart so you can have enough left over to pay school fees greed?

On a corporate level it may be blatant greed but on the level of the individuals within the organization, it's not so clear. Big industry and big businesses are still made of little individuals.

We all have to ask ourselves how much we can afford to be environmentally conscious and quite frankly, it's probably not enough.
