First of all don't listen to the idiot above me. that guys is retarded. Greece is not the cradle of civilization. You can go much further back in time and still find advanced societies with developed languages, sciences, technology, etc. E.g. West African societies, Egypt, the Indus civilization, ancient Iraq, etc.
Greece might be considered the cradle of western civilization, but so much is interconnected - e.g. how the hell would Europe have come out of the "Dark Ages" if it wasn't for Islamic scholars that re-discovered ancient Greek works by Aristotle, Galen, blah blah
As a general note: You shouldn't ask questions that require erudite answers on this site. There are just a bunch of retarded a ss mofos around here. how about this: Pick up a book on ancient civilizations by a respected scholar of history.
