Is Glen Beck's "wandered in darkness" a snide reference to Obama's skin color?

Over 80% of Tea Party members dislike Obama. Beck could have said America is headed in the wrong direction, or he could have said that America has lost its direction, but he chose the word "darkness" instead. He would of course claim that it is a coincidence, just as much as coincidence as the Tea Pary member's negative view of Obama.
