Is Facebook good for your social life?

Me and some friends were talking about facebook and one friend said that facebook is surposed to be a social netwrok and support socialising... but it makes you less sociable because you don't go out and meet people face to face and communicate properly very much. Do you think its better to make a choice not to use face book, or do you think we should use it?
 
it's a good way to keep in contact with old friends that you dont normally see....it's okay to use as long as you're not obsessed with it
