I'm not talking about chat connection issues. I'm talking about it's actual use. When I get a chat message it slow to opening the window. Then I find that I must alternate my clicks between the message display area and the message entering text box a few times to get focus so that I may type a message. If I receive a message at any time, focus is lost from the typing area forcing me to click around again until I find that I can type my reply message. Now this whole time I'm struggling with the overall slowness of my browser whenever this chat window is open.
It drives me to not want to use it, unfortunately it is the only means I have to talk to certain friends and family via a chat utility, as they don't use Skype or other chat apps.
So is this the typical behavior everyone else witnesses?
I'm using IE 7 on an Windows XP machine SP3.
