Is English the easiest or hardest language to learn?

I keep hearing from people that say English is really hard to learn.

But for some reason, I really don't know if that's true.. of course, it may just seem easy since it's my native language, but I'm currently learning Chinese (Mandarin) and it's difficult for me. In English, it doesn't really matter HOW we say things. In Mandarin and other languages, it does matter how you say things, otherwise it means a whole different thing.

...so is English easy to learn or hard? Is anyone hear not a native English speaker that could tell me?
LOL Chica. XD

compared to french, spanish, italian, or other romance languages, it's much harder. we have ten times as many words, and we add new ones every year. we also do not follow any hard and set laws for plurals or any gender-specific words.

I've too heard that "English is hard, spanish is easier." I will call it like it is! There is a bias for everyone who speaks a native tongue. Germans will probably think its easiest to learn German, we might think its easiest to learn English, spanish-speakers will say it is easier to learn spanish!

The truth is it is really hard to learn a second language period! Everyone will always be most comfortable with their native tongue and have a hard time learning another language (no matter what language) if they are older (by older i mean like 12 and up).
