Is ebay really pulling all PS3s from ebay?!?!?

Ebay will not stop already gone thru auctions. Even if they did, you would already have the seller/buyer info and you would then move it outside of Ebay and skip the Ebay fees.

Hold onto your precious little rules but I assure they have and are selling right now on Ebay. I have sold on Ebay at a PowerSeller level since 2000, I am quite familiar with how they work and how they don't work.

They are removing the auctions that havent gone through and in some cases suspending people's accounts. The ones that went through still face suspension as well. It is all simply to avoid OBVIOUS possible problems which were the reasons for the rules in the first place.

You cant sell something you dont have and wont have or be able to ship within 30 days. Especially somehting you are not guaranteed to have by the time you state.

do you not fuckin understand that 1000s of people will do it anyways? or do you live in naive-land where everyone follows some technicality rule?

Many will not get away with it on eBay for a few more days until the "shipped within 30 days" rule can be avoided.

It isn't a technicality, it is a pretty simple rule, actually.
Definately wont ship it within 30 days? Can't sell it on eBay. End of story.

It is pretty damn easy to enforce too. If the auction states anything along the lines of "the item you are paying for wont ship until Nov. 17th" which is more than 30 days away, it violates the rule. Sell it somewhere else until then.

I live in a world where people seem to THINK the rules don't apply just because they are not enforced 100% of the time.

The short answer to the question in the thread title: "Is ebay really pulling all PS3s from ebay?!?!?" is: Yes, when they see them or have them brought to their attention, they are pulling PS3 preorders for now if there is no guarantee the actual merchandise you are paying for will be shipped within 30 days of the completed sale and close of the listing.

Pretty fucking simple. eBay is not your street corner with hustlers hocking preorder vouchers for the full price of the console, it is a very well organized and extremely security-conscious private site with very clear rules and regulations.

I don't think anyone would care about reseller if there was enough console to go around. They would just scam stupid people at that point. I might not be able to get one to actually own and play because someone else purchased 4 to make some quick cash. No store here has started to take pre-order yet since they don't know exactly how many they will get.

The problem is the system doesn't come out for more than 30 days, so someone could win a bid then get fucked and per eBay and Paypal terms they won't be able to do anything about it (i.e. you can't file anything after 30 days).

the same reason people pay $300 dollars for a cabbage patch doll and beenie babies. They're stupid. And there's nothing wrong with taking advantage of the stupid; Corporate America does it everyday.
