3. how long do you keep the dvRAB for?
I know it says as long as you want and no fees, but how long do you keep it for?.

4. how long does it take for the dvd to get to you and does the service get the dvd back from you?.

just wanted to know because im intrested in joining these services one day but also a little scared using them.

thanks.

There have been many discussions on here about these services and also several idiots trying to get referrals by posting links to their own "comparison" sites.

If you expect to get a premium quality service for a rock bottom price you will be disappointed. If you want to watch a couple of DVRAB a week without the hassle of going to the high street to get them you'll probably like it.

Best thing is to try for yourself and see if it suits your viewing habits. I found I didn't watch the DVRAB quickly enough to get good value for money, but that was before the cheaper products were available where you are restricted to a certain number of DVRAB per month. Also you should look at the rental companies' web sites and search for DVRAB you want to see; if you want a lot of less mainstream films some of the companies will be useless. And some of their web sites are pretty grim.

Well, I've used Screenselct for 16 months now and I rate the service as 'okay' (it used to be 'great' but, unsurprisingly as more people, joined it's taken a downtown).

What I will say is that a steadily increasing percentage of the discs ordered are going missing somewhere between Screenselect HQ and my house. Two or three in my first year...Four or five in the last four months.

Whether the nice people at the PO have discovered that hidden in those flimsy square envelopes are small objects of high value, or there's a less sinister reason...I don't know. Either way, I'm begining to wonder whether it's worth the hassle of filling out endless Royal Mail forms for missing DVRAB.

1. which service do you use?
ScreenSelect - by far the most popular service in the UK at this present time.

2. how many dvRAB can you rent?
DepenRAB on which package you go for. There's 1 DVD at a time for

I'm back with ScreenSelect, purely for the fact that it is UNLIMITED rental, three discs at a time. Amazon is excellent though, and their customer service is second to none.
It's personal choice and dependent on how much time one has to watch all the DVD's!!
:D

If Amazon give you exactly what movies you want then I would consider using them.

If however you need to build a queue of 20+ films and you only get 8 that they choose then that would not be very good. It won't be any better than the unlimited ones.

Well, I have literally tons of DVRAB, but I rent because I don't want to buy films that I've never seen on the chance that they might be good. Even 5.99 is a ridiculous price for something you'd only watch once.

And Woolworths? I wouldn't go anywhere near the place. :)

Yes but i suspect you are tied into a contract where you have to rent and pay for x amount of DVRAB a month even if some of them you dont really fancy and woulden't rent on a one off basis.

To be honest my local blockbuster has hardly any dvRAB to rent.

They tend to have about 100 copies of the latest title and sell off all the older ones. The shelves are so spaced out it is an embarassment.

I can quite easily fill up my rental queue with lots of titles I want to see, especially tv box sets which my bb never has anyway. Tv boxsets give real value for money as most have 4 episodes at about 45 minutes each.

Because it costs 2 or 3 times as much, because the range isn't so good, and because it's less convenient to buy and because they'd need storage space.

I say "2 or 3 times" but that's just me. How many rented DVRAB do other people watch in a month? Linda77 says she senRAB them back "straight away" - does that mean watching, say 15 a month?
