As a mechanical engineer working in BHEL i will answer this question.
The prospects of a bio technologist in India is very less and it doesn't guarantee a bio tech job after 4 years in India, unless you are lucky enough.
I have friends who completed similar low prof. ( sorry i didn't mean anything bad..but u know it rite) and working in Wipro or some other software companies as a coder.
So my advice for u is to become a mech engineer and the scope is endless. U can work in any field if u are a Royal Mech!!!. Be it Merchant Navy/Petroleum/Automobile/Quality/ Research/Modelling
Hope this clarifies. but do check out NIT warangal bio tech students placement companies as well..
